press release — Wayne Legge of Mindemoya, ON made the long haul from Manitoulin Island to crush the competition in the 2004 Woody’s Challenge held in Birch Run, MI October 17, 2004. Legge waded through a field of 16 of the fastest Pro Stock 1000 drag sleds in North America to lay claim to the single biggest paycheck in snowmobile drag racing, the $5000 winner-take-all Woody’s Challenge.

The Woody’s Challenge is a special “shoot-out” style drag race, with the field being narrowed down to the “Sweet 16” finalist. These finalists are then paired off through a drawing, and run two at a time with the winner advancing to the next round and the loser going back to the trailer.

Once the final pairing is determined, these two racers square off with the winner taking home the $5000 prize from Woody’s, which is the single biggest pay out in snowmobile drag racing.
