Ontario Family Gets National Recognition

At the annual International Snow-mobile Congress meeting this past July, the Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations (CCSO) presented its National Excellence Awards.

Among the recipients, the OFSC is very pleased to congratulate its nominee for Outstanding Snowmobile Family of the Year, the Cooper Family, from the Elgin Trail Riders of District 5 of Southwestern Ontario.

Bryan and Shelly Cooper were born into snowmobiling families and had their first rides as baby’s in their mothers’ arms, so sledding is in their blood.

Today, Bryan and Shelly, with daughters Alex and Bryanna, epitomize family snowmobiling in Ontario, volunteering for more over 400 hours each year and raising thousands of dollars for their club and for Easter Seals.

Their exhaustive list of positions and accomplishments is simply remarkable…and it exemplifies the family tradition that is so much a part of snowmobiling throughout rural Ontario.

Without the Cooper’s and the many other families that form the backbone of countless local snowmobile clubs, the OFSC trail system wouldn’t be available for your own family fun each winter.

Two ways you can show your appreciation to the Cooper’s and all other OFSC volunteer families are to buy your 2009 trail permits and then take your family out to go snowmobiling as often as possible this winter!
