MY ‘06 will be the last you’ll see of any 2-stroke models from Yamaha. Don’t expect anything but 4-stroke powered Yamahas in the future.
Yamaha is fully aware of the need for a cost efficient 80 to 90 HP to compete in the 500 class. We suspect an engine of this description is not far off.
