This past weekend was the first event of the 2009 CSRA Circuit at Searchmont ski resort in Sault Ste. Marie, On. We started off Friday with Practice all day. The sleds were good from the start but after some adjustments they were rockets.
Saturday was a great day for Byers Motorsports/Supertrax/Polaris Team. In the first Moto of Semi-Pro Stock We were able to get a great start and battled the 7 lap moto for a second place finish.
The next race was Semi-pro Open and Our mod sled was untouchable. I didn’t have the greatest timing on the green flag but by the time I reached the first jump up the hill I was infront of the pack and lead the way to my first heat win of the season. The next Open Moto I finished second.
Sunday Morning was a numbing -28*C and the snowdust lingered in the air with no wind to take it away. Moto finishes for sunday were as followed. Stock- 2nd and 3rd, Open- 3rd.
This year’s Semi-Pro finals were extended from 7 laps to 10 laps. In the Open class we finished 6th and in Stock finished 11th after being tossed over the berm on lap 6 in 3rd place.
Overall we had a good weekend and now have 6 weeks til our next CSRA event which will give us time to be more prepared and place podium at the Owen Sound Snowcross event Jan 17th. This early snow will allow me to get out on a variety of tracks to practice on , let hope it stays around.
Thanks again to everyone for your support this season.
