November is the beginning of an annual conversation that inevitably leads to impending snow, wintery cold and future outdoor recreational activities.

It’s time to take the 2012 bright yellow Ski-Doo MXZ TNT out from under its summer hiding place and make sure all is good.

Snowmobiling is a great family activity that is energizing and in some cases the main form of winter leisure and often times, once introduced to sledding, becomes a lifelong obsession.

Chenango County in Central New York is a snowmobile destination known for its warm, friendly people, unrivalled lifestyle and beautiful natural surroundings.

There are numerous clubs in and around Chenango that all maintain their own trails, and provide special events throughout the winter months.

In North America, there are nearly 3000 snowmobile clubs. Virtually all are involved in trail maintenance, charity fund raising and family activities. It’s important to note that snowmobilers work together to plan, build and maintain their trails.

Club volunteers work tirelessly for the benefit of their club and sport to make sure everyone can enjoy the trails, but, it is also essential to respect the property that you’re riding on, obey the rules, and reciprocate trail usage with others.

Spend some time in Chenango this winter, we may not be Tug Hill, but the ride on our trails will be worth it.
